Welcome to the Zendesk Connector Setup guide!

In this article, we will cover the following:

  • Authenticating Zendesk in Savant

  • Connecting Data from Zendesk

  • Publishing Data to Zendesk

Authenticating Zendesk in Savant

Savant can connect to Zendesk using either an API Token or an OAuth authentication process.

Authenticating Zendesk in Savant using API Token

Savant can connect to Zendesk using an API token generated by Zendesk . In order to generate this token, navigate to your Zendesk Admin Center and click on Apps and Integrations. Under “Zendesk API”, enable Token Access and click on Add API Token. Give it a description and copy the token to a notepad, this is important as this is the only time you will be able to view the token itself.

Once you have your API token copied, you are ready to begin connecting Zendesk to Savant. From Savant's top menu bar, navigate to Data, then Systems and click New System.

Select Zendesk from the list of possible connections and select “API Token” as your authentication type. From here, enter your Zendesk subdomain, your email associated with your Zendesk account and your API token and click Authenticate.

You’re now ready to access your data from Zendesk in Savant.

Authenticating Zendesk using OAuth

From Savant's top menu bar, navigate to Data, then Systems and click New System.

Select Zendesk from the list of possible connections and select “OAuth” as your authentication type. Enter your Zendesk subdomain and click Authenticate.

Follow the on-screen instructions to finish authenticating your Zendesk connection.

You’re now ready to start accessing your data from Zendesk in Savant.

Connecting Data from Zendesk

On the top left side of your canvas, click the Add Source button, shown below and select your Zendesk connection.

If you are not currently within an analysis, you can add your connection by navigating to Data and selecting New Dataset. Select your previously authenticated Zendesk system from the list of available options and click Next.

Now you need to configure the dataset and decide which data from various objects you would like to import into your analysis.

  1. Select which Object you would like to import into your data source from the drop down menu.

  2. Select which Columns you want to include in the dataset.

  3. Once you're done, click Next.

Next, add a name and description to your data set to be used within your canvas and click Confirm.

Your data from Zendesk is now placed on your canvas as a source for your analysis!
