Multi-path outputs, Blend tool, Filter multi-path, Template variables, Formatted JSON, Dynamic functions and Tableau upgrade

Updated over a week ago

Savants are always improving and their tools should too. That's why we're constantly releasing new features and enhancements every week. Here are the highlights from this month:

Introducing Multi-Path Outputs

Our latest feature lets you output unmatched records for joining, subtracting, filtering and more – giving you more control and flexibility over your data.

What is Multi-path Output?

Multi-path Output allows you to output not only the matched records from your data blending and filtering tools, but also the unmatched records from either or both sides of the join or filter.

This means you can easily identify and analyze the records that did not meet your join or filter criteria, and use them for further processing, reporting or debugging. You can also combine the matched and unmatched records in different ways to create custom outputs that suit your needs.

Why is Multi-path Output important?

Multi-path Output gives you more control and flexibility over your data. You can use it to:

  • Improve the quality and accuracy of your data by finding and fixing errors, inconsistencies, or missing values in your unmatched records.

  • Enhance your data analysis by exploring and discovering new insights from your unmatched records, such as outliers, anomalies, or trends.

  • Optimize your data workflow by saving time and resources on manual data manipulation, and automating your output generation and delivery.

How to use Multi-path Output?

Multi-path Output is easy to use and currently compatible with all our blend and filtering tools. You can enable it by simply selecting the output option that best suits your needs from the menu in the configuration settings. You can choose to output:

  • Only the matched records (default option) of the join or filter

  • Only the unmatched records of the filter

  • Only the unmatched records from the left side of the join

  • Only the unmatched records from the right side of the join

  • Only the unmatched records from both sides of the join

  • The matched records and the unmatched records from the left side of the join

  • The matched records and the unmatched records from the right side of the join

  • The matched records and the unmatched records from both sides of the join

Ready to try Multi-path Output?

Multi-path Output is available now for all our users. To try it out, log in to your account and open any Blend or Filter tool. You can also check out our Blend and Filter tool product screenshots and tutorials below for more guidance.

We hope you enjoy this exciting new feature and find it useful for your data analytics projects. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions on how to make our platform better for you.

Happy analyzing!

Blend, baby, Blend!

😎 Everything just got so much better. Say goodbye to data blending headaches and hello to awesome with our new Blend tool.

Finally, no more VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS, XLOOKUPS and INDEX/MATCH. No more left, right, inner and outer join. No more join, union, filter and subtract. And no more spaghetti mess and broken spreadsheets.

Get hours and hours of your life back from painful data stitching, match troubleshooting, and multi-step processes.

With Savant's new Blend tool, combining data has never been easier. We've redefined data blending in 3 powerful steps:

  1. Pick your match fields

  2. Visually select the output parts from your input dataset

  3. Enjoy 1-click options to add unmatched data paths

With this leap forward in data blending, just set your match fields with column drop downs and then define your main output with a snappy point-and-click Venn diagram. Need special processing paths for unmatched records? With a click, you can add unmatched paths for either input.

It's never been faster, easier and more satisfying to blend data – all without the spaghetti processes and fragile code.

🍹 Welcome to low-click, no-keyboard Data Blending!

Multi-path Filtering

Ever need to split your dataset in two? Want to monitor for records that fail an important test?

Often times, it's not enough to just get the records that pass your filters – you need to treat the other records too.

Now you can filter and segment in 1-click with this major enhancement to the Filter tool! Simple click Include false path in your Filter tool and enjoy multi-path Filtering.

It's an amazing feature for setting bad record alerts, splitting data flows and so much more. Enjoy the easy button!

Dynamic Slack and Email Reports

Time to celebrate with tons of major new file options for Slack and Email destinations. Ever need to split reports into multiple files and tabs? Or perhaps dynamically name files?

Well this major update can do all of those things! Now you can dynamically name and split into:

  • Multiple Excel files

Invariably Better Templates

A lot of analysts are building amazing, time-saving analysis templates to quick-start common projects.

And many of their best analyses use Input Variables – like picking a opportunity stage for attribution, start and end dates for a report, and tons more – to let them parameterize inputs in their process.

That's why we've Input Variables are not just for analyses – now you can build them into your templates too. With template variables, you can build variables into your re-usable analysis templates to get maximum efficiency, leverage and performance. The process is just like using variables in your analyses, but not they'll come packed in templates too.

No more hard-coded inputs and digging through workflows to make small changes. Create variables, input them in your templates and give your users super powers with no learning curve.

No More JSON Eye Sores
