Scheduling Runs

Learn how to create bots in Savant to automate and schedule your analyses to run.

Updated over a week ago

Scheduling runs allows you to automate analyses at specific times. Use this feature to run reports on a set schedule, such as every Monday morning or at hourly intervals during the workday. Savant includes scheduling as part of its core functionality, eliminating the need for additional tools or complex configurations.

1️⃣ Click on 'Automation'

2️⃣ Select 'Setup' Next to Schedule

3️⃣ Choose an Interval and click “Create Bot”

Automation Options

  • Weekly: Schedule your analysis to run on specific days of the week.

    • Example: Every Monday and Thursday at 9:00 AM to prepare for midweek and end-of-week reporting.

    • Options include selecting specific days, the exact time, and your preferred time zone.

  • Hourly: Automate runs to occur at specific hours and even specify the exact minute within those hours.

    • Example: Run the analysis at 15 minutes past every hour between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM for regular updates during work hours.

    • Options include selecting which hours of the day the analysis should run and the exact minute within each of those hours.

  • Daily: Run your analysis every day at a specific time.

    • Example: Refresh sales data nightly at 11:59 PM so it’s ready first thing in the morning.

    • Options include selecting the minute, time zone, and start and end dates.

  • Monthly: Schedule runs for a particular day of the month.

    • Example: Generate invoices on the 1st of every month at 8:00 AM for billing cycles.

    • Set the exact day and time, along with the time zone and date range.

  • Always On: A premium feature that keeps your analysis running continuously.

    • Example: Use this for real-time updates to dashboards or live monitoring workflows.

    • Once the bot completes a run, it immediately restarts without waiting for the next interval.

Schedule Settings and Controls

  • Active Switch: Use the toggle switch to activate or deactivate a scheduled bot. Turning the bot off stops it from running without requiring deletion.

  • Edit Button: Click "Edit" to adjust the scheduling details of an existing bot. This lets you change the interval, time, or other settings without creating a new bot.

On the Analyses page, a bot icon shows that automation is active for an analysis. Clicking the Icon opens a dropdown with the schedule details and a link to manage the automation settings.

Turning Off a Schedule

To temporarily stop a scheduled bot without deleting it:

  1. Go to the Automation page for the analysis.

  2. Locate the Active Switch next to the schedule.

  3. Toggle the switch to the off position.

The bot will remain inactive until you toggle the switch back on.
